Where colonial hands have built reinforcing walls to straighten the river, there is still hope. The water remembers.
The Don River, Wonscotonach, empties into Lake Ontario. I learned from Shelby Lisk that Lake Ontario comes from a Mohawk word meaning beautiful or good lake.
Quote, “Imagine if everyone called it the beautiful lake. Would they treat it differently?” [1] Unquote.
